As announced in Variety magazine, The Game Audio Network Guild today revealed the nominees for its 22nd annual G.A.N.G. Awards across various categories including music, sound design, dialogue, and more. The nominees underwent selection by members of the Game Audio Network Guild Advisory Board and Committees. The winners will be unveiled at the G.A.N.G. Awards on March 21, 2024, set to take place during the Game Developers Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
Game Audio Network Guild President Brian Schmidt remarked, “Yet another outstanding year for game audio unfolds. The contributions of composers, sound designers, dialogue specialists, engineers, technologists, and various others persistently propel the boundaries of the distinct art form that encompasses audio for games and interactive entertainment.”
G.A.N.G. will present its Lifetime Achievement Award to interactive industry veteran Steve Schnur, Worldwide President of Music & Marketing for Electronic Arts since 2001. Steve Schnur has been a label and music publishing company president, music supervisor, professional musician, songwriter, composer, producer, professor, policy advocate and more. He’s changed the game in music, movies, sports, and digital interactive entertainment around the world, while leading the fight for greater tolerance, diversity, and gender equality throughout the industry.
Steve remarked, “Throughout my career, I’ve been devoted to fostering education, opportunity, and excellence in game audio, while bringing greater clarity to issues throughout the gaming community. It’s a mission that G.A.N.G. shares, and one that is more vital than ever. They are an organization that is resetting the global bar every day, and one that I am proud to be a part of. I am humbled and deeply honored by this award.”
G.A.N.G. Nomination voting opens January 2, 2024 and members may cast their votes through January 21, 2024.
