What is a "Demo Derby"?

The Game Audio Network Guild Demo Derby is one of the highest rated and longest running annual events at the Game Developers Conference and is coming to GameSoundCon. Participants bring in examples of their work and a panel of game audio experts review and provide constructive feedback.  

All submissions will be considered in the order received.  We can not guarantee that all submissions will be able to be heard – so make sure you get your submission in early!

Submissions for the Game Audio Network Guild GameSoundCon 2024. Demo Derbies are now open and will close October 20th at 11:59 PM PT.

Details:

Submissions are Closed!

• All submissions must be 1 minute in length 
• Submissions must be original work
• Submitter must be present at the demo derby to be reviewed

Instructions: 

          1. Create a high-bit rate .mp3 (320kbps; no .wav or uncompressed file formats, please!) of your submission. Please set the filename to [LastName][FirstName]_GSC24.mp3

          2. Create a text file (.txt) with your name and contact information. Please set the filename to [LastName][FirstName]_GSC24.txt

          3. Upload the high-bit rate .mp3 and text file to the following folder (CLOSED)   

Details:

• All submissions must be up to 1 minute in length.
• Sound Design for submissions must be original work
• Submitter must be present at the demo derby to be reviewed, and must have a conference pass to submit. 
     

Instructions: 

To make a submission, please do the following:

          1. Create an .mp4 or .mov (1920×1080, not to exceed 10000kbps all other video file formats will be rejected!) video where you have done all the sound design. Please set the filename to [LastName][FirstName]_GSC24.mp4/mov

          2. Create a text file (.txt) with your name and contact information. Please set the filename to [LastName][FirstName]_GSC24.txt

          3. Upload the 2 files to the following folder: https://www.dropbox.com/request/7059nRvcCT3qS6alAM2P

Details:

Submissions are Closed!

• Submissions should be no more than 1 minute in length. If you submit a demo longer than 1 minute it will only be played up to the 1 minute mark during the derby. Demos longer than 2 minutes will not be accepted. 
• Voice Over submissions can be reels or clips of previous characters
• Submitter must be present at the demo derby to be reviewed, and must have a conference pass to submit. 
     

Instructions:

          1. Create an .mp3 or .mov file (no .wav or uncompressed file formats, please!) that features your vocal performance as different characters. Please set the filename to [LastName][FirstName]_GSC24.mp3/mov

          2. Create a text file (.txt or .rtf) with your contact information. Please set the filename to [LastName][FirstName]_GSC24.txt

          3. Upload the file to the following folder: (CLOSED)
