Interview with RAGE composer, Rod Abernethy

Rod Abernethy

Award-winning composer and musician Rod Abernethy crafts authentic and memorable music scores for visual media including video games, advertising and television. His rich musical repertoire encompasses traditional acoustic and ethnic scores, unique hybrid soundtracks fusing electronic and organic elements, as well as dramatic music written for orchestra and choir.

Rod’s dynamic music productions enhance numerous high profile video games such as RAGE, TERA, ALPHA PROTOCOL, DEAD HEAD FRED, THE HOBBIT and RISE OF THE KASAI as well as promotional trailers for DARKSIDERS, WARHAWK, LINEAGE and PRINCE OF PERSIA. G.A.N.G. HANG in NYC: Big Success

 

The NYC/AES GANG Hang this month was a huge success. There were over 60 folks attending the event, held at the Heavyocity studios (where they showed off their new sample library, DAMAGE). Attendance was varied with audio professionals of different stripes, including students, composers, voice talent, sound designers, audio directors, session musicians and more, including celebrity guest, NBC News anchor, David Ushery.

World renown percussionists Bashiri Johnson and Kimati Dinizulu made an appearance, and lots of food, adult beverages and good times were had by all. Click here to see some photos of the event on the GANG site.
