Richie Nieto (www.richienieto.com) recently completed doing all the music and the sound design for “My Garden”, a gardening simulation for the Nintendo 3DS, announced by EA at the 2010 Tokyo Game Show.
The game is being developed by EA Salt Lake, and it takes full advantage of the system’s glasses-free 3-D display technology. It will launch simultaneously with the Nintendo 3DS.
On working on this title, Richie says, “This was a great game to work on, especially since I had to compose in several styles that I wasn’t too familiar with, so I ended up doing a lot more research than usual, which is really fun to me. It was also a great excuse to get some new music-making toys, from a few new sample libraries to a bunch of wind chimes, a chromatic harmonica, some guitar slides and an EBow. Overall, it’s a very organic-sounding game.”
He adds, “I’ve grown very comfortable working with the guys over at EA Salt Lake. This is my seventh title with them, and I can’t wait to start on the next one.”
